Gorgeous Art Deco Restaurants

Or perhaps the title should be “Art Deco–Can’t Get Enough of You”.

What is it about Art Deco that people find so appealing? If you like the interiors of the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the Radio City Music Hall, and the Rockefeller Center in New York, then you’ve been drawn by the sleek look and clean lines of this iconic style. I think one of the reasons I loved NYC so much was that it was Art Deco lover’s paradise.

When my husband and I visited New York City we took loads of photographs. It got me around to thinking: I could pick our favorite shots and use them to decorate a—what else—virtual Art Deco-style restaurant! I initially considered a hotel room, but I’ll do a restaurant first and then a hotel room later. (Mainly because I like to eat more than sleep?)

Here are some beautiful Art Deco(ish) bars and restaurants from around the world.

Prague Hotel Operator aptly recommends this beautiful hotel in Prague. The wood grain patterns are beautiful, and work well with the cream ceiling and marble floors.

Luxist made sure to report on the Ramsay beauty in London. I like the stepped wall opening and geometric patterned carpet.

Lobby at the 45 Park Lane Hotel in London

Finally, we go back to London’s New Kid on the Block, the 45 Park Lane Hotel. If this isn’t Art Deco perfection personified then I don’t know what is. The gigantic lamp welcomes guests into the fine world of Art Deco.

Timeless Spaces

Aren’t these rooms gorgeous? For me, Art Deco is like a cross between Neoclassical and modern interiors. You get the beauty and symmetry of the Empire style and the clean lines and functionality of modern spaces. Add to that the most luxurious materials that nature has to offer, and you have a timeless, bequeath-worthy space.
