Do you love the rustic or lodge look but want a space that’s also elegant and sophisticated at the same time?

3D Visualization

Here is my 3D visualization of such a room. By juxtaposing earth colors with cool blue tones, and selecting furnishings that are finely crafted with nature-inspired shapes, we can have both elegance and lodge-like warmth at the same time.

The living room is in warm brown tones with blue accents. “Nature” is the theme: the rug depicting branches of a tree represents flora, the blue accent chair a river, the horse sculpture land animals, the antique bronze coffee table the treasures found beneath the earth. The sofa upholstered in a camel toned fabric with two types of weave represents land mass.

On the walls are photos that are exquisitely framed to fit the room: a small island, a view of a boat from afar on a calm sea, a hawk soaring above trees , and a hawk flapping its wings.

Inspired by the wonderful bronze tables made for Gilbert Poillerat and Maison Jansen in the middle of the 20th century, the Currey & Company Gilt Twist Rectangular Table has a beautiful gold leaf finish. This wrought-iron, twisted, branch-like tubular version emulates the golden bronze of the much more expensive versions.

Stone County Ironworks Pine Side Chair

This heirloom, hand-forged Stone County Ironworks Pine Side Chair has twig-shaped accents. It’s wonderful how the blacksmiths use traditional tools like the hammer, anvil and forge to recreate the forms of nature for our interior enjoyment. I love the pine cone accent on the stretcher!

Rain in Sky Pillow

Stylish and earth-friendly, the Rain in Sky Pillow is hand-printed and hanmade in the USA with environmentally-friendly inks with no chemical waste or disposal generated. All paper waste from this process is repurposed as shredded packing material. Product is recyclable at the end of its life-cycle. Fabrics are 100% certified polyester made from recycled post consumer plastic bottles. Inserts are 100% recycled, hypo-allergenic down alternative, made from recycled post consumer plastic bottles.

Uttermost Brunner Storage Ottoman

This exquisitely crafted Currey & Company Midwinter Table Lamp has a natural twig effect recreated in forged iron. The handcrafted base is accentuated with a coarse textured shade and coordinating finial. It’s the perfect table lamp for any nature-themed room!

Cooper Classics Marcella Pedestal Table

To add elegance to our nature-themed room, I chose a classically shaped accent table, the Cooper Classics Marcella Pedestal Table. This finely crafted piece is a tribute to the beauty of polished wood. The dark, Old World finish balances out the brown leather ottoman shown previously, while matching the branch pattern of the eclectic rug shown below.

Oriental Weavers Sphinx Palermo in Gold

Finally, pulling the room together is the gorgeous Oriental Weavers Sphinx Palermo in Gold rug. The Palermo Collection uses space-dyed twisted nylon for an incredibly soft feel underfoot with the added luxury of subtle texture. Its palette consists of a range of warm neutrals acting as a base for chic shades like cool grey, dusty plum, soft blue and spicy pumpkin. Such colors work perfectly for the casual yet sophisticated patterns in this collection. The space-dyed yarn brings each one to life.

I was so enchanted by this rug: the skillful mix of hand-painted branches, damask patterns, and the blue-and-gold pairing.

So there you have it, the picks for my version of a nature-themed yet sophisticated living room. I love bringing the outdoors in, and these delightful pieces would really make a living room look comfortable and elegant at the same time.
