Art Deco Inspired Accent Tables
Product Information
In a previous article I modeled a Ruhlmann-designed table based on a picture in the book Furniture: World Styles from Classical to Contemporary by Judith Miller.
“This elegant circular table, signed by Ruhlmann, is made from amboyna and ivory. Its rotating circular top rests on a central support decorated with stepped geometric panels and an arching base. Like many of Ruhlmann’s pieces, the exotic wood veneer is the main form of decoration. c.1929. W:74.5cm” (Excerpt from p. 393 of Furniture: World Styles from Classical to Contemporary by Judith Miller.)
Don’t you just love the stunning design, rich veneer and exotic inlay?
Get the Look
Ruhlmann’s table is so gorgeous I am inspired to pick up some of its design elements and show how they truly enhance a piece of furniture.
The starburst inlay adds a very special touch to the Honey Accent Table. Whether using materials like ivory or rich wood, inlays make a piece worth keeping.
Nothing characterizes Art Deco luxury more than rich wood veneers. The rare burl used in the Connoisseur Mappa Burl Foyer Table makes this piece a real treasure, meant to be kept for generations.
The stepped sides of the Mirror Side Table gives it that special Art Deco touch. It reminds me of the buildings designed during the Jazz Age, and how their images are now used to decorate walls in the form of retro art.
Enhance your Home!
These beautiful pieces are available from Bellacor.
