Art Deco Desk in Rosewood & Chrome
Product Information
I saw this beautiful desk at Canonbury Antiques and quickly fell in love.
The simplicity of the design, richness of the materials, and functionality of the piece made me want to give this one two thumbs up.
3D Visualization
From the looks of the photo I think the desk is veneered in rosewood, and its drawers and pulls had chrome plating for decoration. Here is my 3D model of the desk.
I added some context: wooden paneling for walls, rich parquetry flooring, a chrome lamp, and a framed photo.
The photo, by the way, is one I took of the inside of the lobby of the Chrysler Building in New York.
Here’s the desk again, this time paired with an Art Deco bed to make a suite.
Get the Look
I couldn’t find the desk above from Canonbury Antiques, but they do have this other stunning Art Deco Vintage Desk in Rosewood for sale as of this writing.
The rosewood is just gorgeous, and the simple design is enhanced by the black ebonized trim. The half-star inlay on top is a lovely touch. There is a French Art Deco feel to this desk, with the gentle curve of the legs. Love it!
This magnificent Hekman Copley Square Kidney Writing Desk has a French Art Deco feel to it, replete with beautiful detail. It features a top veneer of mahogany and yewood. Four drawers including one file drawer on the right side, fan medallion inlays and Copley finish. Accentuated by hand-applied finishes on select mahogany solids with yewood and tulipwood inlay, this stunning piece is a showcase of craftsmanship. Available at Carolina Rustica.
Contemporary Takes
While not classified as “Art Deco”, these contemporary pieces carry the spirit: clean design, sleek lines, and a wood-and-chrome (or other metal) combination.
The Baldwin Desk in Wood and Chrome by Thrive Home Furnishings is a 1950s classic. The wood-chrome combination adds to the retro design and Mid-century charm. Four drawers give you plenty of space to separate and store all your tools, paper, and supplies.
The Micah Espresso Stain Desk has an Espresso-stained top and chrome legs. It has a keyboard drawer with fold down front. Perfect for a corner office in the bedroom or kitchen.
The Super Z Writing Desk by Legends Furniture features solid wood, premium veneers and quality workmanship. This desk has a front drawer for keyboard or writing materials. It has a rich cocoa finish.

Happy New Year to you, too, Krissie! Hope this year will be a great one.
Yes, let’s study! π Being this old doesn’t mean we can now stop studying. Seems like the old brain here no longer has any sponge-like quality, though!

Takahiro Y – I have no idea how long it takes to creat a thing like this. I bet it takes longer than a click. Looking forward to your works! ζγγΎγγ¦γγγ§γ¨γγγγγΎγοΌ
Michael W – I need to show this to my daughter. She’s been playing with Google’s Sketchup for a while. She started off creating simple houses, then started playing more with odd shaped windows for her houses. A couple days ago she designed in it what she calls her personal crest in 3D.
Amazing work.
Jeff M – I’m so glad you made it +Beverly Claire Kaiya ! I’m glad you also include the pre-version..it looks and sounds so complex…
