Queen Anne Style Side Chairs

Product Information

Queen Anne chairs never go out of style. They are not only lovely to look at, but are also comfortable and sturdy. In this article we look at my model of a Queen Anne chair (with a twist!), some gorgeous real world examples, and Queen Anne chairs that we can add to our dining room for that beautiful, classic look.

3D Visualization

Here is my 3D model of a classic chair, with a twist.

A dining chair inspired by the Queen Anne style

A dining chair inspired by the Queen Anne style

This walnut side chair has a mixture of Queen Anne and Chippendale features. The back splat is solid, in the Queen Anne style, but its stiles and seat are shaped, and the chair has cabriole front legs, following the Chippendale style. The carved top is a Venetian armchair inspiration (c. 1795).

With or without armrests this chair will enhance any classically-styled dining room. Here it is in the virtual dining room that I created previously. The chairs are given a darker stain and buffed surface.

The Beauty of Queen Anne Chairs

This is the dining room of an apartment in San Francisco, overlooking the bay. It was recently redecorated by Tucker & Marks. The elegantly proportioned wood paneling in the dining room was stained a dark brown to show off the art collection. A brass chandelier and Queen Anne chairs fill the room with warmth, befitting of a country manor in the sky.

“Sumptuous” is the word that perfectly describes this classic dining room in a Palm Beach, Florida residence. It was designed by Juan Pablo Molyneux, with his characteristic lavish flair. Painted leather panels serve as the backdrop for a gorgeous dining table with Queen Anne chairs. A Murano chandelier and late 18th-century French bookcase complete the look.
